Primary supratentorial solitary leptomeningeal anaplastic oligodendroglioma: report of a case.

Abstract
Background: Primary intracranial solitary leptomeningeal gliomas are exceedingly rare. They can be both diffuse and solitary. Heterotopias of glial tissue nests have been considered as the primary source of these tumors. Only sixteen case of intracranial PLA have been reported, so far.
Case presentation: The author reports the case of a thirty eight year-old women admitted in hospital because of an attack of general tonic clonic seizure.MRI scan revealed a right frontal dural based tumor with arachnoid layer adherence. After right frontal craniotomy, a tumor mass that was entirely covered by arachnoid layer was observed. The tumor completely excised.
Conclusion: The first case of primary solitary supratentorial leptomeningeal anaplastic oligodendroglioma is reported.
